5 Things You Should Be Doing on Instagram as a Musician

  |   Blog, Rising Star, Tips, Tricks & Licks

Overall: Sharing tips that rising stars should use on Instagram to help the get noticed and attract more followers/fans.

    1. Set up a Business Profile or Switch to a Business Profile – This will allow you to see more metrics and insights than if you had a personal profile. http://blog.business.instagram.com/post/147808315816/creating-a-business-account

    1. Post Consistently – It doesn’t help your brand if you post once and then you post another two months later. Commit to posting a certain amount per week. You can start out with a number like 3 and as you get the hang out of it try to get where you are posting almost every day.

    1. Use Hashtags – Hashtags are how you will get found on Instagram. Make sure you hashtagging your brand as well as popular or trending hashtags that relate to you or what you are posting. You might be able to find some good ones here – https://top-hashtags.com/hashtag/music/

    1. Follow Other Musicians – Follow other bands and artists who you feel like are doing a good job on Instagram. You can always learn from others and some of the Instagrammers might be not as well known, but totally blowing it up on Social Media.

    1. Videos, Videos, Videos – The annoying thing about Instagram is that you won’t be able to post a link to your YouTube Channel (which you are obviously keeping up to date with as well) so instead, you’ll need to upload videos directly. Videos can be anywhere from 3 to 60 seconds. Uploading videos often!
