Hope After the Storm is a new chapter of Texas Music Project’s Music Heals initiative, inspired by 13-year-old Skyler Derrington, a survivor of the devastating flood in Kerrville and a young artist using music to uplift others. As families and students continue to recover, this campaign focuses on restoring access to music by replacing instruments lost in the flood, supporting Kerrville ISD music programs, and offering songwriting opportunities through our Song of Hope program.

Skyler’s story of resilience shared on national platforms including FOX & Friends, and the Patriot Awards, reminds us that while tragedy can take much, it can’t silence the human spirit. This campaign honors those who were lost, stands with the families grieving, and brings healing through creativity, community, and the power of music.

AN URGENT NEED.
This year, Texas Music Project is focusing our Music Heals efforts on Kerrville, where students lost their instruments in the devastating Guadalupe River flood. Our goal is simple and urgent: replace the instruments at one school, restore their music program, and help young musicians reclaim the creativity and confidence that was washed away.
