Carmen Rizzo Master Class
Due to the pandemic this year, Townview High Schools “D” Jazz camp went virtual. Working with the school and their band to deliver resources to help them, this provided TMP with the unique task and opportunity to connect the students with legendary producer, mixer, programmer and recording artist Carmen Rizzo all the way from Los Angeles. The two-time Grammy nominee has worked with Seal, Coldplay, Paul Oakenfold, Alanis Morissette, Dido and Jem, to name a few artists. Mr. Rizzo was kind enough to lend his knowledge and experience to create a Master Class for the students of the Jazz Camp on recording and the current trends of the music biz as it relates to streaming, making it the culminating activity for the camp on June 6th, 2020.
TMP was happy to be able to sponsor the Townview Jazz Band incentive program and Master Class. We want to give a huge shout out to the Big “D” Band and Dean Hill on their amazing venture and accomplishments which are making waves and getting national attention. Texas Music Project hopes to continue partnering with Townview High School to “help encourage students to participate and work hard to achieve their highest musical goals” and “help us to continue to keep jazz alive in the Dallas area schools” as Townview Director of Bands Dean Hill put it.
