The Texas Music Project today announced a new strategic partnership with Free Guitars 4 Kids (FG4K), naming the organization as an official guitar partner in support of its statewide music education and music therapy initiatives.
This collaboration brings together two mission driven organizations committed to increasing access to music for students in underserved communities. Through this partnership, thousands of guitars and educational resources will be placed into the hands of young musicians across Texas, supporting both creative development and emotional well being.
Founded in 2020, Free Guitars 4 Kids has distributed thousands of guitars across 23 states, partnering with more than 100 nonprofits, schools, and after school programs. The organization focuses on delivering not only instruments, but also mentorship and instruction, ensuring each guitar serves as a catalyst for long term growth.
“Partnering with the Texas Music Project allows us to reach more young people who may not otherwise have access to music,” said Benjamin Dudley, Executive Director of Free Guitars 4 Kids. “When a student gets their first guitar, it can spark creativity, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Working together, we are making sure those opportunities reach students across Texas.”

The partnership directly supports Texas Music Project’s core initiatives, including Music Heals and Classroom to Stage, which bring music into hospitals, schools, and community environments. By integrating FG4K’s instrument distribution model with TMP’s programmatic framework, the organizations aim to scale access to music education while reinforcing its therapeutic benefits.
“This partnership represents a shared commitment to making music accessible at every level,” said Texas Music Project leadership. “By aligning our efforts with Free Guitars 4 Kids, we are expanding our reach and strengthening our ability to serve students, patients, and communities across Texas.”
